Sorry churro fans…
Costco has discontinued the Twisted Churro and replaced it with the new Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie.
Meet Costco’s NEW Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie
Costco’s new Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie is starting to appear all over the US.
Its first appearance was 13 days ago in the Pacific Northwest, and it is really delicious (my review of the cookie here)!
Priced at $2.49, the new 750-calorie all-butter, bittersweet & semi-sweet chocolate chip cookie replaces the beloved (and sometimes hated) Twisted Churro.
Costco food court fans were either dismayed or overjoyed.
For me, I am not a huge fan of the Twisted Churro.
It was lackluster and resembled nothing of the great churros that you can get at Disneyland.
And so far, it seems that the cookie is getting mixed reviews.
One Redditor says that “although they are good, I hope they bring back the churro.”
However, this same Redditor goes on to say that they won’t order the cookie again saying it was not worth the 750 calories, especially at the $2.49 price.
Price-wise, the new cookie is a dollar more expensive than the Twisted Churro, and that is probably the main reason for the swap.
It is likely to help offset the cost of the infamous $1.50 hot dog.
After getting my hands on the cookie, I can say without a doubt it is a big win for Costco and my belly. I highly enjoyed it!
But certainly, as someone who did not like the Twisted Churro, the Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie is a welcome addition to the Costco Food Court Menu.
